अगर किसी आदमी से पूछा जाए कि सबसे कीमती चीज क्या होता है तो ज्यादातर लोगों का जवाब होगा सोना, चांदी, हीरा आदि, लेकिन बहुत कम लोग ऐसे मिलेंगे जिनका जवाब होगा समय। सही बात तो यह है कि समय बहुत ही ज्यादा कीमती है, सोने-चांदी, हीरे से कई गुना इसकी कीमत है। एक बार जो समय बीत जाता है वह दोबारा कभी भी नहीं आता है, चाहे उसके लिए कितना ही पैसा क्यों नहीं खर्च कर लिया जाए। समय एक सीमित धन है जो आपके ना चाहने के बाद भी खर्च होगा ही और यह खरीदा भी नहीं जा सकता है।
किसी भी आदमी को समय का महत्व समझना चाहिए और एक-एक पल का सदुपयोग करना चाहिए और समय को कभी भी व्यर्थ नहीं जाने देना चाहिए। आप समय का उपयोग कुछ सीखने में कर सकते हैं, अपने व्यापार को बढ़ाने में कर सकते हैं। इस तरह समय का सदुपयोग करने से भविष्य में आपके और आपके परिवार को फायदा ही होगा। अगर समय का सही से उपयोग नहीं किया जाएगा तो बाद में वह काम, समय के अभाव में आप बिल्कुल नहीं कर पाएंगे। एक बार वक्त हाथ से निकल गया तो फिर हाथ मलने के अलावा कुछ नहीं किया जा सकता है।
ऐसे बहुत सारे लोग हैं और कुछ विद्यार्थी भी ऐसे हैं जिन्हें समय का महत्व पता नहीं है वह लोग ज्यादातर समय गप्पे हांकने, सिनेमा देखने, tv देखने, खेलने-कूदने, वीडियो गेम खेलने या फिर सोने में अपना समय नष्ट करते हैं। ऐसे लोग जब परीक्षा देना हो या फिर कोई काम करना हो तो मुसीबत में पड़ जाते हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने इसकी तैयारी नहीं की होती है। अगर समय को यूं ही व्यर्थ किया जाए तो उस आदमी को कभी ना कभी मुसीबत उठानी ही पड़ती है। जो लोग अपने समय का अच्छी तरह सदुपयोग करते हैं वह लोग आगे के जीवन में काफी सफल होते हैं, कई छात्र बड़े-बड़े कॉम्पिटिशन में काफी अच्छी सफलता पाते हैं। इसलिए हम सभी लोगों को समय की कीमत समझते हुए इसके एक-एक पल का अच्छी तरह उपयोग करना चाहिए। जितना ज्यादा समय का अच्छी तरह उपयोग करेंगे, आपको उतना ही अच्छा फल मिलेगा।
